an Internship at A. Kusainov Research Center of A. Kussainov Eurasian Humanities Institute in Astana

From October 28 to November 9 of this year, the second-year Master's Degree students of the Faculty of Philology majoring in "Literary Studies" participated in an internship at A. Kusainov Research Center of A. Kussainov Eurasian Humanities Institute in Astana. During this period, they attended the lectures by the renowned scholars and participated in the various events organized by the aforementioned research center. On the first day of their internship, the head of the A. Kussainov Research Center, Candidate of Philological Sciences and Associate Professor, Laura Daurenbekova, conducted a workshop on the topics: "Academic Writing" and "Key Considerations for Publishing Articles in Journals Recommended by the Committee for Quality Assurance in Education and Science of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan". During the internship postgraduates had an opportunity to attend the lectures and the workshops on the following topics: “Conducting Research in Literary Studies” by Professor Zhanat Askerbekovna ( L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University), “Theoretical Foundations of Academic Literacy” by Professor Yermek Adayevna (Nazarbayev University), “Workshop on Writing Academic Texts: Understanding the Purpose of Article Sections based on the experience of the Bolashak program by Candidate of Philological Sciences, Associate Professor, a research assistant, Gulshet Tusipovna (Shayakhmetov Research Center), “Approaches to Preparing and Executing a Research Project in Higher Education” by PhD Associate Professor Moldir Amankazievna. These lectures and workshops provided insight into the current stage of scientific development compared to international fields. They gave Master's Degree students new information on research directions and the structure of scientific articles.
They also attended the presentation of the book: Comparative-Historical Dictionary of Archaic Words in the Languages of Abai and Shakarim by academician Sherubai Kurmanbaiuly of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan and Turkologist Marlen Yerlanuly, Doctor of Philosophy (PhD). This event featured a detailed discussion on the origins and meanings of archaic words from other languages found in the works of the two poets. During the internship, the Master’s degree students visited the ALZHIR Memorial Museum Complex and the National Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The information about the people's suffering and the tragic turn of events seemed to unveil many memories preserved in the collective consciousness.
The students learned a great deal during the internship, which covered fields such as science, history, literature, art, and culture. Beyond expanding their knowledge, it was clear that they were enriched with the latest scientific developments in their respective fields. As a result of the high-quality training, each student reflected on their future, defined their direction, and moved closer to their ultimate goals.
