Students of the ISS 21-6 group attended a lecture by Associate Professor, PhD, Chief Scientific Secretary of the Institute of Information and Computational Technologies O.A. Usatova on the role of women in science.
At the event, the lecturer shared her experience with the participants, spoke about the specifics of working in higher education and the prospects for women in science. The lecture discussed the importance of achieving gender equality - this is not only one of the fundamental human rights, but also a necessary basis for achieving peace, prosperity and sustainable development. Women and girls should have equal rights and opportunities and live a life free from violence and discrimination. Women's empowerment is one of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals and an integral part of comprehensive and sustainable development. Great progress has been made in recent decades: more and more girls are receiving higher education, more and more women are holding leadership positions. It is incredibly important to support female students, postgraduates and young scientists at the beginning of their careers.
At the discussion that took place after the lecture, students noted the special importance of having women who have achieved success in various fields of activity with their talent and work as mentors for female students. Of course, their experience and secrets of mastery are invaluable support for young people in mastering their profession.
