"National Games of the Kazakh People"

On October 25, on the occasion of the Republic Day, a round table on the topic: "National Games of the Kazakh People" was held in dormitory №17 of 51 KazNU. It was organized by Ospan A. O., a teacher of the Department of Russian Philology and World Literature. The main goal of this event is not only to familiarize future generations with the traditions of the Kazakh people and national types of games, but also to teach students how to spend their leisure time usefully, revive and popularize forgotten national values and traditions among young people. The round table began with an introduction to the students of the dormitory and an exchange of opinions using the brainstorming method. Then rhetorical questions were asked in order to identify the younger generation's ideas about the national stereotype. During the event, the students of the dormitory got acquainted with an art video, a presentation and visual aids about the traditions and culture of the Kazakh people, disappearing national types of games and much more. Towards the end of the event, students played chess, checkers, togyzkumalak, asyk, backgammon, etc. Talented students also recited poems and sang songs. Holding such traditional events not only broadens the students' national worldview, but also helps to reveal their talents.
