On October 29, 2024, together with the group F-203-1 of the Faculty of Physics and Mathematics, we attended the performance "King Lear", which took place at the Musrepov Youth Theater. The play is set in Britain in the 9th century BC. The aged King Lear decided to give power to his three daughters – Goneril, Regan and Cordelia – dividing his kingdom between them. The eldest daughters publicly expressed their boundless love for their father, while the youngest, Cordelia, refused to swear to her feelings. The King was furious. He gives his kingdom to his eldest daughters, who subsequently cease to consider him, betray him, and then banish him altogether. King Lear also experienced the betrayal of his loved ones. The finale of the play is King Lear going crazy. However, in his madness, the king sees clearly, sees his mistakes, and repents. We see a conflict between a loving, kind and at the same time trusting father and his ungrateful daughters. The play was directed by a young talented stage director Farhad Moldagali, who managed to convincingly show that, unfortunately, nothing has changed in our modern world. The dramatic work of the great William Shakespeare has not lost its relevance and significance from the standpoint of today's worldview.
The role of King Lear was brilliantly performed by an artist with an extremely colorful appearance Sagyzbai Karabalin, and the actor Safuan Rysbayuly acted no less brilliantly as a Buffoon. The young artists of the troupe also captivated the audience with their sincerity and acting skills. At the end of the performance, the grateful audience burst into applause and did not let the artists go for a long time. As for the students, they were shocked by the performance, experienced a range of feelings and emotions that made them look at their fathers in a different way. The students admitted that they need to appreciate their parents, their care and love, and maintain family relations during their lifetime. And you also don't need to be shy about confessing your love and affection to your parents. After all, this is so important for both parents and children.
