At the Department of Pre-University Training, an event titled "Water – The Source of Life" was held within the framework of SDG 6. The aim of the event was to educate students on the importance of conserving clean water and to discuss ways to save water. No living organism can survive without water, as all life processes occur with its involvement. According to experts, an individual uses up to 500 liters of water per day. Due to annual climate changes on Earth and the increasing demand for drinking water, water conservation has become a critical global issue today. Students need to be encouraged to protect natural resources and take responsibility for their careful use.
During the event, participants discussed methods of water conservation, learned about essential rules to follow, and calculated the amount of water wasted daily. They also recognized the importance of using water- and energy-saving technologies in today’s world.
