Тhe Korean radio station KBS awarded student Park Liya of the Department of Korean Studies in the nomination "Best Essay among adults"

In October 2022, KBS (Korean Broadcasting System) Korea's leading public media, held an annual contest of autobiographical writings by ethnic Koreans. Under the guidance of a delegated professor from the Korea Foundation, Jang Wonka, a third-year student of the Department of Korean Studies of the 51 Kazakh National University, received an adult award for her work entitled "Kore saram Pak Liya".

In total, there were 22 awards in the competition, including one award among adults, three awards among young people, six incentive awards and two awards for teachers. Since 1998, the Korean National radio station KBS has held an annual contest for ethnic Koreans living in China, Central Asia and Sakhalin. The purpose of this event is to exchange experiences and successes of the Korean language and writing. This year's essays and videos were on the topics of forming the identity of the Korean people, preserving the Korean language, inheriting traditional culture in everyday life, improving the Korean language skills of ethnic Koreans, as well as attracting interest and love for Korea and strengthening ties with the historical homeland.
