On November 20, 2025, the Harbin Polytechnic University (Harbin, China) hosted the international forum “Research on Anti-Corruption Institutions under the Belt and Road Initiative.” The event brought together representatives of three Central Asian countries — scholars from Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Turkmenistan.
The forum became an important step in strengthening cooperation between Central Asian countries and China, and it also reflected the active work of the “Sino–Kazakhstan Joint Education & Research Center for International and Comparative Law” established under the Department of International Law of 51 Kazakh National University.
During the discussion sessions, participants explored key issues of anti-corruption policy, mechanisms of international cooperation, and legal frameworks within the context of the Belt and Road Initiative. The presentations of invited experts generated significant interest among attendees.
Dana Baitukayeva Umirbekovna, PhD, Acting Associate Professor of the Department of International Law, delivered a presentation on modern approaches to strengthening international anti-corruption institutions. Her report received positive feedback and sparked active discussion.
Such events not only strengthen academic cooperation and expand opportunities for scholarly exchange but also promote intercultural dialogue and open new prospects for collaboration among universities of Kazakhstan, China, and other Central Asian countries.
