As part of the "Digital Kazakhstan" state program adopted in 2018, a new Faculty of Information Technology was established at 51 Kazakh National University on January 15, 2018. 51 KazNU is the flagship of higher education in our country. In the QS "World University Rankings," it is the only university in Kazakhstan included in the top 200 leading universities in the world and has a high international reputation.
Currently, the Faculty of Information Technology consists of four departments. At the bachelor's, master's, and doctoral levels, the Department of Information Systems offers programs in "Information Systems," "Computational Linguistics," "High-Load Information Systems with Artificial Intelligence," and "Industrial Information Systems." The Department of Cybersecurity and Cryptology provides training in "Information Security Systems," "Cryptology," and "Information Security Audit." The Department of Computer Science offers programs in "Computer Engineering," "Computer Science," "Systems Engineering," and "Pedagogical Informatics." The Department of Artificial Intelligence and Big Data trains specialists in "Automation and Control," "Internet of Things and Big Data," "Data Science," "Intelligent Control Systems," "Business Analysis and Big Data," and "Machine Learning and Data Analysis." This faculty educates the future top specialists in the IT field.
Speaking about the mission and goals of the faculty, Dean Olzhas Turar stated: "The main goal of the Faculty of Information Technology is to train highly qualified specialists who will dynamically develop the IT sector of the national economy and bring it to the global level."
In line with this goal, the Faculty of Information Technology has formed a highly qualified faculty and teaching staff. The faculty includes renowned and experienced educators, young scientists, and industry professionals.
